Gregg Deal came to being a bandleader and punk rock singer late, coming up as a transgressive visual performance artist first originally from Utah and now living in Denver. Abjectly political and direct, Dead Pioneers have struck a chord and their newest one Wagon Burner, which fits very nicely into that new legacy with a new single featuring Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods. It is pretty hard to be confused of the messaging with songs like Nazi Teeth. Following up PO$T AMERICAN and the spirited self/titled debut with the iconic song Bad Indian, social issues, political stances and the lived experience of being an indigenous descendent reclaiming a lost voice as well as a physical record collection. The raw energy is hard to beat and it has impressed many, including Pearl Jam who took them out on tour.
